KORE Recon Series Rear change the height of truck any?

Hi,

I just recently installed a KORE leveling kit on my 02' RAM 2500 CTD. I am very pleased with the improved ride of the truck in the front. The back still bounces a bit too much for me.

I am wanting to install the KORE Recon rear half in my truck to improve it even more.

The thing I am wanting to know is if the Recon rear with the mini packs changes the height of the rear of the truck any. I would like it if the rear was about a 1" or so higher because the front seems a little hight now. Anybody installed the Recon series rear & been happy with the kit?

Thanks,
Mike

How do you like the leveling kit from Kore? I have looked at it a few times and it looks pretty nice. Do the track bar/other front end parts have to be adjusted or changed in order to run this set up? Thanks!

I had the Kore minipacks on my old '98.5. It does lift the rear about 1" and somewhat softens the ride, but the full leaf packs offered by Lorenz,Carli and Kore do a much better job. Airbags are necessary if you tow or carry lots of weight on occasions.

I like it alot. It seemed like a good kit for the money. I'm not an expert mechanic so it took me a day to get it installed. I had to take loose the tie rod, upper control arms, track bar, & anti-sway bar to drop the axle low enough to get the new springs in. they're a good bit taller than the originals.

Everything works well & aligns back up well with a little work...hardest thing i had getting back in was the track bar after taking it loose...

I am pleased with the way it performs though. When driving on the street you can tell a huge difference when hitting a small pot hole or bump...very smooth ride.

You should be able to use the same leveling kit that I purchased for mine. It's the KORE HP Leveling Kit 1998-2008 Diesel. If it will be used for your 2001 2500 CTD. There are actually several of the kits that will work for your truck that they offer. They start at about $385 & go up from there..

thanks for the information. that was what i was needing to know. i looked at the full leafs too...i would rather go that way, but it looks like it's not too easy to get the full leafs for 2002 model. everybody seems to only make them for 3rd gen.

Hi,

I just had a quick question for you since you had the KORE minipacks installed on your Dodge RAM.

My 02 2500 came from the factory with the rear auxilary springs/leafs & rear stabilizer bar. I was wondering if your truck had the rear auxilary leafs? Does this cause any problems with using the minipacks & can you have the auxilary springs & also have the minipacks intalled?

Thanks for any information you can give.

Thanks,
Mike

I just installed the Skyjacker D25 coils in the front of my truck. Awesome coils at a decent price.

To install my coils I just disconnected the lower shock bolt and sway-bar link, one side at a time. Removing and installing the coil on the drivers side was a piece of cake but the passenger side was a little more difficult. Had to compress the coil approx. 2 inches, thats all that was needed and back together it went.

I had problems with my jack which slowed me down and I had to remove the leveling spacers I had already in there but with a good jack and a set of coil compressors and 13/16 socket (without leveling spacers), the job should take approx. 2hrs or so. Note that my lower shock bolt was 13/16in.

I prev. had stock coils and spacers, now the spacers are for sale. I'll be installing new links soon.

I to am looking at upgrading the rear of my truck. My truck rides great, especially with the new coils and Bilstein 5100's.
