Not trying to hijack your thread , but how can one tell if their truck is equipped with keyless entry?

thanks stamey but that link doesnt help . i have the factorey sytem without a valet switch on the dash. What i really nead is to know if it is in the factory service manual and if i can get a copy of those pages. I did recieve an email from acompany who said they would sell me the directions for like $ 7 .

and yes call dodge with your vin number and they can tell you all the factory options.

Re: keyless entry 1997 3500

From the FAQ
3) Press and hold the UNLOCK button on the programmed fob for 4 seconds. Within 6 seconds with the UNLOCK button still depressed, press the PANIC button. WHen a single chime is heard, release both buttons. The chime indicates the system is in the program mode.

no panic button.
Therein lies the rub.

Again I sayeth, a visit to the Dealership is in order,
this must be done with the official DRB/Scantool found only at the Dealerership.

dunerr,
Gimme the 3 part numbers off the back. I'll see what I can dig up. Should be a Chrysler, Canada, and FCC ID.

so even an early '98 can be equipped with the factory keyless?

Mine's a "sport", and was pretty loaded, I'm sure keyless was one of 'em..

Even if I've got to go to the dealer to get them programmed.

sweet!

I found this a Jc Whitneys. Will this work for me? You? http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/P...X/appId-426669

Its cheap, and I think it would work. Any thoughts? I have electric door locks already, just not the fob thing.
