Long Story short the Sender(button on my keyring) didn't work so i ordered a kit off of ebay for $50 and that starts my truck and rolls down my windows if i choose to. So all i need is the package to come in and install it.
I've been thinking about this for a while now, for my 96. What package did you order? Could you post a review once you get it and install it? I'd like to know about installation and how you liek it, and hopefully reliability info, down the road...

Thanks,
Chris

It's a good thing you said "don't quote me on that", because not all trucks with power locks came with keyless entry. Sometimes I think that people ignore my previous posts in the same thread

EXACTLY, an ornament for your key chain, it is slang. They are actully called Remote Keyless Entry Transmitters... I can't find FOB in that . As far as the quote "SLT with power locks should have remote entry" I highly doubt it, it has always been an option. 1998 to 2002 (1500's) and 2003 (2500 & 3500's) I THINK it was a whole different body control module, this was mounted on the right hand side of your steering column under the dash, right in front under the knee bolster, if I remember correct, I think it said "W/RKE" right on it. They very early Rams it was a stand alone module, but you needed the wire harness to be there. With the start 2002 (1500's) and 2003 (2500 & 3500's) it is a module that snaps into the rear of your speedometer cluster, if you have factory power locks... it is a simple plug and play.

Post ALL the numbers on the back of your FOB, I have some connections and I'll see what I can find out. I may even have some.

Also, no one has explained what fob means.
I bought my truck used, it didnt come with keyless entry for some reason I went to the dealer ordered the factory kit. I went home to install it, come to find out, it HAS to be programmed by the dealer @ a rate of roughly $100.00

I wouldnt exactly call it a plug in deal

Not to beat a dead horse here, but. There is no Plug and Play, "factory" module that will plug into an 01.5?

I think last I read the only way you could do it (reasonably) is aftermarket.

My truck is equipped for the remote locks, but the swindlership I bought it from didn't include the remote. I even asked about it, and they said it wasn't equipped. It has an alarm, flashes its lights and honks and all. Anyway, they ran my VIN at the other swindlership last week, confirmed it was equipped. I bought a remote off of ebay, but they want $90 to program it. So it is on hold for now. I really hate those places. I'm sure I paid more for the truck because that package was on there.
