intercooler hose/elbow

I need a lower intercooler hose/elbow. Its the lower one leading to the intake. The dealer wants 144.00. Is there another option?
Thanks CB

Re:intercooler hose/elbow

Stoneman, if your refering to the rubber hose, and not the steel tube, check out Piers Diesel Research. I just popped one of my lower hoses, and I'm gonna use their replacements. ( much heavier )

Hope this helps,
Rick

I hate too dissapoint you, but the Peirs website is a little decieving. That is 65 for ONE lower intercooler boot. I know. I just had that conversation with them not long ago when I blew one out. Also be very specific when you order. I thought I was when I told the guy I wanted only one hose. When I rec. the box there were two hoses and four clamps in the box. To piers credit though they were very cordial on the phone when I called about the mix up. They also sent a very nice hand written note when they caught a mix up in crediting my account. Despite the problems I had I will still do more business with them.

One word of caution if you do go with the peirs hose. Eat your Wheaties before you try to put them on. They are stout!

To add to SolidJunk's words, I have heard you have to boil the hoses (get them real hot in water) before you put them on so you can get them on.

I got my boot from Piers and I had no problems putting it on.

Even so, $65 EACH still beats $144 all to pieces! :
