Ignition switch problems
I was cleaning up some wiring mess an alarm install tech made on my truck with solder and heat shrink (my gauges flashing like a crappy neon motel sign on each bump), so initially I thought this was self-inflicted. But when I meter'd the wiring back from the alarm cpu its running off that first red wire in the harness off the ignition switch which should be hot when the key is turned. Sound right?
There are a couple hot wires going into that connector and judging by where that wiring goes Im assuming it is a switched source.
Looks like the previous owner experienced some wiring issues in this area previously theres melted stuff and replaced parts in the column. maybe from the blower motor wiring recall.
just looking for a wiring diagram or confirmation this is a switched hot wire before I spend the $$$ on an ignition switch.

Ill check that in the AM. I saw a relay in the area of the brake pedal I assumed that was it after I saw the connector had been replaced and the scorched stuff inside.
honestly Ive seen how these switches wear over time and Im considering breaking this out into a group of relays instead. When the plastic and contacts wear they can drift and short out inside.
