ignition light and buzzer now not working

Sigh. Took my truck to the local Dodge dealer for a few things. Intermittent wiper switch not working. They removed the multifunction switch, and found it was some $500 computer module just for the intermittent wiper, so replaced the original switch. But now, the the circular light that illuminates the ignition tumbler isn't working, nor is the key-in-ignition warning chime, but both were working before they touched anything. The interior lights illuminate properly when the door is open.

Any ideas where the problem could be? Where do I start to trace the electricals for this?

My ignition tumbler light isn't working either, so can't help you there.
The chime thingy isn't working? Never did like those things.... can't say if they have ever prevented me from locking the keys in any vehicle.
My last truck was a chebby and po had done me the huge favor of eliminating the key/seatbelt buzzer. Now don't read me wrong... I wearz my belt all of the time... but I don't need a stupid buzzer when I'm working on the vehicle or want to move it around the parking lot.

Sorry that this doesn't really help you out, but I thought that somebody should post.

When folks disable the chime one way is to disconnect the two wire connector on the key switch. This also disables the the key halo light.
Highly probable the dealer forgot to plug the connector back in after working in the steering column. An easy five minute fix, just need a torx screwdriver to remove the column cover.

Thanks for both posts! I'll check out the steering column. I've done lots of auto repairs in my life, but have never been great on auto electrical. Thanks again. I'll repost with my findings.
