Re:Removing Exhaust From Hangers??

Well, first, thank you to 1tuffram for the great reply

...but (maybe I'm overlooking something here) you neglected to tell me on how to remove the exhaust itself from the hangers (or do the hangers and exhaust all come off in one piece?)

Thanks again,

Justin.

Hanger rods are welded to OEM exhaust pipe/tubing. The one on the front of the muffer doubles as a clamp and the hanger (plus is welded in place on the pipe...way to go DC!). To get the hanger rods out of the rubber groumets which holds everything up...spray the groumets with silicone or WD-40. You may need a large screw driver or pry bar to get a few out. Once you are under the truck looking at the exhaust it will all make sense.

For what it's worth I think the Hanger rods (and OEM hanger system in general) are of better quality and design than what comes with the 4" after-market Exhausts. I saved my OEM exhaust and hope to fabricate its hangers onto my 4" Bully Dog exhaust (I just need to find someone with a welder, some free-time...and willing to accept Beer as payment )

Re:How To Remove Exhaust?

I was just wandering how much the resnator cuts down the sound. I want a straight piped truck when we get a new one but my dad does not. If with the muffler off it is not too loud then I will do that.<br>DM01
