Re:How long are you going to keep your truck?

The last truck that I owned for any length of time was a 1991 F-150. That was fine until we decided we wanted a 5th wheel. I'll probably keep my Dodge at least until it's paid off...that's 5 more years .

Now, when it comes to Harleys, that's a different matter. I've had 4 brand new bikes in the last 6 years! I like change.

When the time comes to get a new truck, I'll get the 3500 DRW. Why fool around? Get the big one and forget it...no matter what the wife says! ;D

Re:How long are you going to keep your truck?

I've come to understand that trucks are not just vehicles to many of us, and that some of us guys become very attached to our trucks. some even say its a relationship . nothing quite like feeling that strong, dependable CTD power, knowing that its not just another disposable V8.

Well, you can't have a long term deepening relationship without trust, and there is no other truck I would trust more than the CTD. I'm convinced that among truck owners, those that own CTDs may be the most loyal. If memory serves, there is statistical data showing that more CDT owners keep their trucks longer than any other truck owners. all you have to do is look at the used truck market and see what diesels are available.

Licensing restrictions on HO trucks in Kommiefornia means I'll stick with my bombed '95 for many, many years. Besides I like everything about it.

Sfunny, I drove Chevy gassers until I got this truck. Oh I was a complete Chevy nut! Once I got into this truck and started it up and took it for a test drive however, I never wanted another Chevy. Now I feel sorry for all those Chebby guys.

To echo an earlier remark, they'll have to pry the steering wheel from my dead fingers. I kept my K5 Blazer for 17 years. Now there was a gasser.

Re:How long are you going to keep your truck?

I think I'll keep mine until the body rusts off, and then try to find a replacement (body that is) in the salvage! ;D

I was quite happy with my '89 Chevy C-1500 ext cab long bed until the 700R4 blew up. When I was shopping for a "new" truck, I decided I would look for a 3/4 ton Dodge with the Cummins, ended up with a 1 ton dually! (never would have expected that) VERY HAPPY I did now, have hauled incredibly heavy loads that no other pickup could have done (certainly not any 3/4 ton anyway).

Besides, what other engine is so easily hopped up?
12 VALVES RULE! ;D

Re:How long are you going to keep your truck?

???You know we had planed on getting a new dodge this year, when they came out with the 4-doors. I was alittle disappionted with the new dodge, the interior wasn't that impressive, and although the truck ran good, it was not nearly as strong as the one we have. Now my wife and son don't like the new front end, I think it nice, but we all came to the same conclution of keeping the one we have. Just couldn't justify the added payment, with what we would get extra. So I plan on keeping our truck for 4-6 more years, we'll add some more accessories, and crank in alittle more power, fun stuff.

I am 31yrs and I will be one of those silver haired, big grey bearded fart's and still be driving this truck! When it dies I will restore it and keep driving it! Of coarse I will get a new one if a few years but never give up this one! ;D
