How to get steering wheel straight

Ok guys, I put a new trackbar on a few months ago, and now, when you are driving down the road, going straight, the wheel is cocked at a 45 deg angle. Drives me crazy because, the horn section of the steering wheel is always blocking view of the temp gauge.

So, to straighten it out and make it horizontal again...do you need to pull the wheel?

No, just adjust the rod coming off your steering box.

was the trackbar an adjustable one? sounds like it's a different length than the old one....

No trackbar was a Moog.

There was so much play in the steering before it may not have been straght since, driving down the road you had to move the wheel a half turn to change the direction the truck was moving. Lol

For some reason a trac bar change usually moves the steering wheel.

To save time put a brightly colored zip tie at tdc on the wheel and jack the front end just off the ground. Turn the sleeve till it is about straight up and down thru the windshield. Drive it and then make a final adjustment to get it straight.

Remember the crown in the road can have an affect on position, usally seeing a left side turn in the wheel.

Beware when you turn the adjustment coupling that the side with the bolts doesn't point straight backwards.
It looks like there's plenty of clearance with the wheels pointed straight ahead but in a sharp turn the coupling can rip a hole in your steering stabilizer.
Point the bolts any direction other than straight back, it won't effect the adjustment much.
