thanks for the generous replies!!!! I'll post up measurements later, maybe I can photoshop the pic's and stick some numbers on them or something, once I fiqure out how to.
If not just making the "frame" allows you to make a cardboard cut out for all the "plates" that you need after that its pretty simple.

The matched red paint is in the garage, I sprayed it with chip/rocker panel paint(kinda bubbly and durable) I think I like it black so I might leave it for a while

A very nice piece of work, you should be very proud of it. I have been looking for something like this for a while so I would welcome some measurements and or plans. I have no skills in this field so every little I can learn from others is most welcome.

I had a couple PM's and requests here for the demenions,

here is a crude diagram of what I did.
remove orginal bumper
remove brackets from bumper
Bolt brackets back to frame

used 2inch wide angle iron layed on top of orginal bumber brackets. there is an existing hole in top part of bumper bracket, I drilled angle iron to match it then bolted it together, this allows you to adjust the angle of the angle iron so its level to the ground and square to the truck
the angle iron is the yellow line and its 7in long

dark blue line is 11 inches long and 90* to the angle iron (yellow piece)
its not shown but from the bottom of the blue line the next piece(white line) is angled back toward the bumper bracket and the angle mimicks the same angle as the bumper bracket that piece was 6in long, I bolted that to the bracket as well. I think the angle was around 30*

the purple line is 36 in. so when your done you have a rectangle (pink & blue)

thin red line is 24inch, angled back till its 4inch away fron headlight
thick red line is 13in and its 2inch away from truck body

thin light blue is24.5in
green is 6.5 inches
thick light blue is 9.5
thick dark blue is 7.5in

after the frame is made I used cardboard to build the shapes needed to fill it in then copyed that to a 4x4 sheet of 11gauge metal, and had it cut out at a local metal shop

Nice work! And excellent price! Not to mention light weight. I would'nt want nothing but my factory bumper mounts. They are designed to give in an accident so you don't bend.....the frame. What did your bumper end up weighing in the end?

I second the "better than $3k" comment.

I'm not sure what it weighed in at but it was not much heavier than my stock one was, I could lift it by my self quite easily

I have my truck back, its not finished, but a few parts have been ordered and are not here yet. I'll be able to use my truck for work now.
