Headlights won't shut off....

This is actually for a friend's truck. 2nd Gen 1500 shortbox.

His head lights won't shut off. I saw him today disconnecting the battery apparently he has been doing this for a while.

Had the same problem on our F350, was a dead daytime running light module. I figure it is probably the exact same problem with his Dodge.

Anyone encounter this (I imagine it's the same wiring setup on our trucks) What fixes it?? Unplug Daytime running light module.

Thanks for the help.

I am fairly sure you answered your own question. That happened to mine a couple years ago and it was the daytime running light module.

Unfortunately, a dealer only item also

Pull the plug on that thing.. They fail quite often. you can install a jumper for the high beam indicator to still work without it.

The module is located just under the brake booster on the fender.

I am uploading some photos to my gallery, one of which is the jumper for the high beam indicator.

Thanks guys.

That's just as I figured. I'm pretty sure I know the exact module to unplug. It's like 2" X 3", black plastic, driver side fender near the brake booster. I was pretty sure that was the one when we had a quick look last night but it was snowing and kind of miserable.

That's also what we did on the F350, just unplugged it and forgot about it, suffered no ill effects.

Thanks again. When those pics get approved Lil DOg I'll double check we are pulling the right plug.
