Headlight problem

Hello all!

I am needing some advice. I have an 02 3500 SPORT model, so it has the quad headlights. Problem is that I have no low beams or factory fog lamps because the high beams are stuck on. The DRL's work fine and all other aspects of lights work ok but once I turn the headlight switch on my high beams come on and I can not select them off. Awhile ago when I had the high beams on they would flicker off and on real fast. I am thinking the headlightswitch but could it be as simple as the relay in the under hood fuse panel?

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve

I searched and found a lot of headlight related problems but not this exact one.

Thanks again.

Try cleaning the multi function sw on the steering column with some spray contact cleaner.

Unplug and clean all the relays and check all the light connections

I have a 97, and when my high beams came on constantly all the time it turned out to be my Daytime Running Light (DRL) module, which is a little chuck of black plastic that has a multi-pin connector going into it. On my truck is was located on the driver side fender under the hood (kinda in the corner).

When I unplugged it, the high beams turned off. I ran without it for quite a bit before finding a replacement one at a reasonable price at a wrecker.

The multi function (high/low) sw being dirty is a common problem and previously reported that cleaning with contact cleaner at the same time as operating the sw (with headlights off) fixed the problem.
