Headlight buzzer.

I tied my seat belt wires together to get rid of the constant beeping at start up and I always leave my keys in so it still beeps at me everytime I get out. What I want is for that buzzer to only come on for my headlights. How do I disconnect that key buzzer it's lame.

Can't say that this will work on a '01, it works on earlier models, but it won't hurt to try.
Remove the steering column cover, it will take a torx driver to remove the screws from the bottom. On the key switch there are two connectors, remove the small one. It sometimes has four wires, other times just two, two were used for the lighted key halo that DC eliminated to save a dime, the other two signal that the key is in the ignition.
This disables all the key in ignition warnings, door open, etc on older trucks. Most older truck owners just cut one wire so as to keep the lighted halo, but I don't think your year has the light.

What may have changed with '01 is that the two wires need to be shorted together rather than just unplugged to achieve what you want. Won't hurt anything to short them together but if there are four wires you're going to have to figure out which two they are. The two for the halo go nowhere if the truck doesn't have this feature.

Let me know what works for my own knowledge.
