have you ever seen a 2nd Gen RAM 4000?
I'm deployed to South America and I came across a 2nd Gen Ram 4000. True to life, it was a extended chassis cab with a flat bed car hauler. It was the same emblems I had on my 2000 except that it wasn't 2500 or 3500 with the Cummins Turbo Diesel Underneath, it was RAM 4000 with the Cummins. Has anyone ever seen these. There are a lot of vehicles down here that I never even heard of. Example Ssang Yong, a new Korean SUV company (haven't seen any of their autos). Plus a galor of flat fender *****'s and old Toyota Land Cruisers. Just figured I'd write and tell my story. I got night duty tonight so I have access to the internet...when it's up Maybe I'll try to pack one of the *****'s up in a Milvan before I come back No one has to know!!!!

I have been stationed in Japan twice and they still make a Toyota with a front solid axle 4x4. Nice truck with fuel injection and the solid axle. They stopped that in 85 if anyone knows Toyotas. Great little wheelin trucks. Too bad the steering wheel is on the wrong side of the truck over there.

The exchange rate down here is 2.51 +/- a point or two. So a 2002 Ram 4000 at 132,000 = 52,590 USD . And that's for a truck with nothing. It was a standard, that's a plus but ALL vehicles down here are stick. I have only seen one auto my whole time here. I guess I'll have to just stick with my "old" 03 3500

Man that's not fair. Check out the mirrors most all of the 2nd gen 4000's they have down there. They're REAL mirrors that you can use to see around a load. Why doesn't DC offer them here at least in the over the counter parts dept? They look more practical than the flip up ones they sell here.

Getting them shouldn't be too hard if you could get someone that is down there to go to a Dodge dealer and get a part number for them. Wink, wink, nod, nod. there might even be a kit like the ones sold here for towing mirrors. As for heated and power, stranger things have happened You would definately need to get all the mounting braces for them.

I saw a 2nd gen 4000 diesel, SRW, reg. cab, this year. Only had the 4000 emblem. Didn't have one for the diesel or the decal for 4x4, but it sounded like a 24v. Had a manual tranny in it.

I have hinted around to Stan and a couple of others but to no avail. I would like to get a pair of the mirrors, and a pair of the 4000 badges. I might even be interested in the double grille that comes on the larger Mexican trucks. I have pictures of them. The grille is about 8 inches longer in the front. That and a custom bumper, nice and deep to break the wind for the road use.
I have also spent time on the internet and emailed a couple of Mexican dealers to try to get some parts but never even got a reply. Guess I would have to speak Spanish
