Hard to start in hot weather

I have started having problems starting my truck when the weather is hot or when the truck is warmed up.

It a 98.5 , 24 valve, 5 speed manual. Has an "Edge Ez" chip and 4 inch exhaust.

I have to crank it for a few seconds before it starts. Its not a cranking problem but a starting problem.

*Feels* like there is some air in the fuel system . But if air was leaking in , I would surely have a visible fuel leak at that spot ?
I can hear my fuel pump running while Im in the "wait to start " mode .

Any ideas would be very much appreciated .

Thanks ,

Brett

Re:Hard to start in hot weather

Mine has done this too. A while ago (before I changed the LP and redid the fuel lines) it did it when I towed while real hot out but it seemed to stop. Every once in a while it cranks a few more than normal though if its hot out and the motor is hot but not much. I heard its tell tale sign of a VP going south but I hope not. I also heard its an air leak in the fuel system too. Dont know. I just think it a hot VP under a hot hood and that makes it hard to start. Since I also hear of guys pouring water on the VP to cool it off. By the way I have great fuel pressure so thats not the problem now.

Re:Hard to start in hot weather

That was a sign of Jack's VP dying on him. Except I think his was a lot harder to start than what your's sounds like.
