took a couple for days to do, but YEAH!!
took 16" out of the frame,driveshaft,fuel supply/return lines,brake line,emergency brake cable has a 16" piece clipped in from the factory
simple to do that,had to weld a couple brackets for a 2001 shortbox truck and the fuel tank is in! welded her up true and square,and even diamond plated it

I test drove a 98 24V same setup, he had a flatbed on it though. Would have bought it on the spot if the financing was available. Never seen a 12V though. Sounds right up my alley! Lets see em!

You swapped the newer mirrors on I see. I was gonna say its a '98 because of those.

I didn't know about the mirror differences from 97-98...
As far as I know these are the originals.
They are powered.
What is the difference from one to the other??

94-97 trucks came with chrome or stainless mirrors. 98-02 came with the black plastic mirrors like what is on yours. A few of the 02s came w/ 3rd gen style tow mirrors (as an option), but Ive never seen one that way from the factory.

I am the 2nd owner of this truck,and am fairly sure they are the originals.
Seems like the 96 I recently parted with also had the same style.
My 92 4x4 has the stainless ones.

You should have done that awesome mod for the regular cab! That would been extremely awesome. I'd like to see a short and short cummins ram..

That would have some great HP to weight ratios eh????
I don't have a problem doing that, but then that cab gets pretty crowded.
I really like the extra cab. And actually, I have had 4 quad cabs and they all leaked and squeaked. So I'll just tilt the seats forward and be done with it. no leaks no squeaks, clean lines.
I do like the convenience of the 4 doors, but oh well.....maybe next time.
(I already had a factory 1998 NON 53 block,5 speed quadcab shortbed 2wd)
The only reason I got rid of it was the fact the clutch was too stiff for my bad ankle. 2 clutches and 2 slaves couldn't cure it. so I sadly parted with the rare gem.

I have a friend who has a 98 12 valve quad cab short bed with a 5 speed, never seen one of them

I really like the truck...it drives great and has gobs of power...feels like a built 426 hemi but gets 20-25 mpg!!
