good truck???
I was looking around the net yesterday trying to find a good reg cab 4x4 5spd when i found this. What i want to know is this a good deal and is there anything i should watch out for in this year of truck?? It will be a daily driver and do some occasional livestock hauling. Will this be a good truck? Thanks for your help.

Watch out for KDP damage and the trans is one with the 5th gear nut problem. If I seem to be speaking Greek, do a search on these terms. If the steering feels loose, it may just be the track bar, or it could be the box. Rusty floors are common, check it through the carpet under the jack (under the passenger seat). Doors rust out, too. That's all I can think of that is unique to these trucks, just check it out like any other used truck. 223k doesn't scare me iff the truck has been maintained well. The price is average for a dealer.

That doesent sound to bad if its in decent shape. We gave $8300 before taxes for my 94 regular cab 4x4 automatic. It is in pretty good shape, and has 160,000 miles.

Not to bad. Take the vin number and go to dealer and they will pull all the dealer warranty work, tsb's,recalls etc. done to it, also ask what filters and oil and maintanance he did to it, if it is the original owner, and if you can go drive it and drive it a long way and just go over it really really hard. Compare prices with www.nada.com, www.kelleybluebook.com, etc. Goodluck, Rick

By the time I got around to look it was not available. Just bought 1994 2500 SLT 4x4 flatbed built in bale spikes 189,00 miles for $5,000 in Oklahoma on 12/19/03. really like it.

Congradulations on the truck pancowboy, now just secure the dowel pin, known as the killer dowel pin, and a few other minor adjustments and you are on your way. Where in Ok are you? I am east of OKc about 20 miles, as we speak there is a fellow DTR member who lives in Okmulgee that is purchasing a Jig repair kit for the kdp, he goes by 12vavle@heart, his name is Jay, if your close to him or don't mind the drive, I would suggest throwing in with him and getting it secured if it has not been done. Goodluck and if you need any help, let me know, Rick
