Funny electrical problem
I have a strange one. About two weeks ago, on my 98 12valve 2500 2wd, the radio, dome lights, mirrors, and visor lights quit working. At first I thought it must be a fuse or something but all the fuses were ok. I had a friend print me out a wiring diagram of the lights and radio. According to the diagram, the red and white wire is the hot wire to the radio. After pulling the radio, I found it had power and the case was grounded properly. Now I'm out of options.
I did a lot of googling over the last few days and found several other people with the same problem but as usual, no answers.
I’m all ears if anyone has any ideas.

I am out in the truck so do n ot have info here with me but.... There is a fuse in the dash panel that controls the dome, rear bed and interior lights. Check it. The wire for it comes from a 50 amp fuse in the box on the fender well. Mine has a break in this feed wire somewhere within the harness. Seems they can burn out from overloading it or running it max. To check this, determine which fuse in the dash panel and temporarly run a hot wire to either side of the fuse. If it makes no difference keep looking, but if it all comes alive you may have to run a new wire to feed the dash panel fuse.

Well, I checked every fuse under the hood with a test light as well as the pannel on the left side of the dash, All are good. I have pulled them out and put the back in a few times to make sure that there is a good connection. What I do not understand is why I have power to the radio, but it still will not work. Im guessing that I will have to take the dash completely appart to get to the back side of the fuse pannel under the dash. I finally read somewhere late last night that there is a splice or plug in the wire that can get corroded.

Did you check the fuse in the YELLOW holder in the inside fuse panel, it often gets missed and its the one the dealer pulls to stop the battery from draining while the truck sits on the lot.
