Fuel tank issue
My truck died as if it ran out of fuel today. The fuel level was down and I had about 540 miles on the trip meter when it happened (I've had 565 without running out of fuel). I got towed to a service station and put in just short of 30 gallons of fuel which I had done before. In fact I had put in 30 gallons in the past, though not often. According to my manual, the tank capacity is 35 gallons
Could there be a problem with my pickup tube in the tank? My fuel gauge has been erratic lately and I suspect that I at least have a sending unit problem.

My 01 was "running out" at 1/8...a Dodge tech told me there is a known 1/8 issue--sumthin' about the floatin' floater thing getting crooked...
A local indy tech changed out the entire module for an '04 that he had around & so far, so good. Be aware that the "sender" can be had fer ~$50, but the ENtire module is supposedly $400 from Dodge & the module+the in-tank fuel pump is about the same price. Go figger.

had the same some years ago, dodge dealer swapped it, after i told them not too. ended up with a free sending unit, which i think the wanted around $600 with labor. but ive heard of people opening it up, cleaning it up and getting results.
