Fuel tank for an 01 3500
Anyone out there replaced their fuel tank and know what it cost? Mine has a small pinhole in it and is weeping the precious liquid gold coal oil I tried to fix it and it lasted about a year but now it's leaking again. I'm really surprise (not really now that I think about it) that DC would put a plastic fuel tank in the truck without a guard to protect it from getting punctured like the gas powered trucks do. I thought about contacting Transfer Flow to see if they had any laying around but since they make a replacement they wouldn't likely keep a factory one around. Lots of them have been trashed I'm sure by owners of the larger Transfer Flow units.
Thanks,
Thanks,

What did you use to fix it? I've had good luck with the Permatex tank repair kits. You may need to drain the tank so the repair area is dry and clean. Another repair for a pinhole is a sheetmetal screw with sealer.

I have the stock 34 (??) gallon tank for a 2002 2500 QC Long Bed sitting here. I installed the 64 gal Aero tank and no longer need the stocker. If you can use that 34 gal tank, let me know, and we'll work something out....but you gotta hurry - I leave on a 5 week vacation on Friday.
