Front suspension question
Im getting this clunking noice when i run over bumps or pot holes. I can feel it slightly in the floor board. I checked the ball joints and no movement comes from them. Im at a loss.

I had a control arm loosen up and it caused a clunk.
Mostly when backing up and stopping though.
Check your shocks as well, bottom bolt can come loose and cause this as well.
I guess the top bolt could as well, if the rubber bushing has hardened or rotted away.

I've got the same issue. Just on the passenger's side.
I've replaced both upper and lower ball joints tightened the shock and checked the torque on the wheel bearing. It's not as bad as it was but I've still got the clunk. Tie rod ends are next.

Trackbar will do this too. If you have someone turn the wheels in the cab, can you feel at the trackbar mount for a pop? if its only forward and back that will be more difficult. You may be able to see movement with the truck in wheelchocks and switching from D to R and back.
Mine is doing this same thing. Now its also side to side which I found was the trackbar. New control arms on order also.

Just replaced the sway bar links on mine. I was having the same problem when I would slow down, make a turn or when backing out of my driveway. The passenger side link, was actually completely sheared from the joint.

Replaced all four tie rod ends today. It's better but the noise is still there. I had tightened the lower shock bolt before. Tonight I took it out. The bolt appears to be in good shape. When I was putting it back together I noticed the shock has some play on the bolt. I'll be ordering new shocks.

hello hello,
well here we go again with the wonderful front end clunk!!
I've got the same thing, with a more noticeable drone type vibration in the cab @ idle and a bad bearing type feel @ times with the clunk. got VERY noticeable after a 1000km round trip with 140km of rough gravel.
I've replaced the track bar, front shocks, trans mount, and upper and lower control arms.
As with most others my front end has been checked many times by me and 3 different mechanics and is found to be in very good shape, no play anywhere!
theres prolly 70,000km on my ball joints but they check out very well.
I've checked for loose bolts, loose body mounts, shock bolts, removed both front and rear sway bars, removed rear shocks, rotated tires etc....etc...etc.
STILL DOES IT!!!!
what the heck is it?? i'm scared to load up the camper and go on holidays
Could it be a bad bearing or ball joint with out noticeable play??
Seems to clunk constantly on the smallest of road seams and bumps. I've checked almost everything and take very good care of my vehicles. this is driving me absolutly insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks.

As funny as this may sounds we had the same clunk in my buddys truck a while back and it hauted us we replaced everything in the front end and it was still there we then we were lookin around and started lookin in the rear and found that the rear swaybar links had gone bad and had lots of play in them not thinkin this would be the problem we replaced them anyways and low and behold it was the clunk the whole time ..might be worth a look

Yeah, mine has done it since I have owned it. I put in a new tracking bar, bilistein's in the front, bearing assembly's. It is like something is loose but I cant find it for the life of me, doesnt affect any performance in the control area though. But little things like that drive me crazy, good luck on the search for the problem. Ill check the rear sway bar next, maybe Ill get lucky. Did'nt realize so many trucks did this, thought it was just mine tryin to drive me nuts
