Front end clicking? Stops when apply brakes

I did the brakes about two weeks ago, recently have a clicking/vibration that occurs from around 20-55mph. The noise stops when I hit the brakes. Any suggestions.

was the noise there berfore the brake job? and did you have the rotors resurfaced when you did the brakes?

The noise was not there before the brake job and I did not have the rotors resurfaced. Any ideas?

First off ALWAYS get the rotors turned. Noise is most likely a rotor that is not running true, or a loose or missing rattle clip or backing pad.

Thanks guys, I usually turn the rotors but they looked brand new so I left it, not to mention I was in a real hurry. It didn't seem to make the noise until after I had driven for a week. Any other suggestion.

Have you checked your front axle u-joint. Mine was making the same noise and it was my front axle u-joint was bad. Might want to check that out just in case.

I just checked my U-joint and it does seem like it could be the issue, but would it stop clicking when I hit the brakes.

Check your front hub bearing assemblies. When they go you're stuck. Jack up each front wheel and grab the tire at the 9 o'clock & 3 o'clock position and try rocking the tire back and forth. If you have play in the wheel it is more than likely the hub bearing is on it's way out.

if you removed the rotors, then it is probably your bearings. if you didnt, check u joint

Mine would stop clicking when i got up to certain speeds, i dont remember if it would quit when i applied the brakes or not. It could put a little pressure on the ujoint and stop the clicking, but i am by far no expert. some of these others might be able to tell you more i am still learning and just try to help with things that have happened to me. my bearings went south on me too but when they did it was bad i could tell, course when i took the hub off the chewed up bearings fell out on the ground, so i let them go way too long.

Thanks guys, I will start with the wheel bearing. That was my first instinct. If one goes out is the other shortly to follow. In other words should I do both sides at one time and be done.
