FRONT BEARINGS

Re:FRONT BEARINGS
I keep thinking around 140 to 150 ft lbs on those. You really arent preloading the bearings. The preload is set by how the bearing is made.
I know they were tight as heck when i took mine off and remember setting them at 150 ft lbs.
Hopefully someone will confirm this.

Re:FRONT BEARINGS
Both my CD and my Haynes say 175. Then loosen or tighten to the next nearest cotter pin hole. The front wheel bearings aren't serviceable unless you have a press. They come as an assembly if they need replacing.
If the rotors and U-joints look OK, I wouldn't bother taking the hubs off. The axle seals tend to leak after if you don't support the outer ends of the axle really good. You don't want to be changing those. They go in from the inside of the diff. It's a stupid design. Almost seems like they did it to make money off of parts and labour.
