Question Four Wheel Anti Lock brake warning light

My '97 Dually is equipped with four wheel anti-lock brakes. A few months ago, I lost a front wheel bearing and gained an anti lock light. Now that everything is fixed, the light does not go out. I disconnected the batteries for half hour or so, with no luck. Well, it worked until I reconnected them (LOL)! Any other fix for this problem without going to the *******?

Thanks

There are codes for that lite , use scanner to find , you may have other problems , so the lite will not go out until everything is working .

Try pulling the sensor out of the bearing making sure it is clean. Did you get a bearing for front ABS? If there is no tone ring, you did not get the right part.

Actually, I am not sure where your sensor is. If the sensor is located in the new bearing, then wipe it off. If your sensor is in the bearing and the bearing is used, that could be your problem. My mechanic has found front bearings that sometimes do not induce a signal into the ABS sensor and this causes the ABS light to come on.

Thanks, but as I recall, the tone ring is built into the rotor and has nothing to do with the bearing. I did have problems with bearings and grease seal being the right size, but just brought in the old parts to compare.
