If your getting a good deal on it go for it man, the sound of a 12v with a bigger exhaust is AWESOME, and then your set up for more mods later on down the road if you want

and most that i read say they gained power.. so i dunno, i guess this is a reality check
That's primarily for naturally aspirated gassers.

With Turbo/Supercharging those things are less important.
