Re:Exhaust TOO LOUD
the pics I showed are the dynomax, the flowmasters have no stufing only baffles.............

and yeah I'm hoping to plug mine up sometime, it's cheaper than getting a new bullet muffler (I already paid 240 bucks for the welded)

Well I am just going on that some of those shops will sell you anything you want without asking what its used for.

I just don't want someone to get the wrong muffler for the application.

J-eh

Re:Exhaust TOO LOUD
i have a 4" magnaflow and a gutted cat (with a reducer down to the stock tailpipe). i could barely hear anything with this combo (the gutted cat acts like a resonator). i blocked off half of the packing inside the muffler (so it's essentially now a 12" muffler instead of 24". the noise sounds like a regular aftermarket system. however, you can't get by a full 4" system in that they have a more hollow sound to them that make it really sound like a big rig. oh well!

I have the 4" turbo back flow master on my 98.5, it has a great sound, not to offensive but you know something is "different" with the truck. When you stand on it she bellows pretty good. From inside the cab it is fine with the windows up, my wife doesn't complain. They make a 3.5" only system for the 94-98 trucks. Mine was 384.00 delivered to my door. Buy flowmaster products from 21st century exhaust in Fla. Jegs wanted 500.00 for the same part number. It took 3 hours to install with my 3 year old "helping".
As a disclaimer:
I love the flowmaster sound-Many Mopar big blocks with them, so I am a little biased to their products.

Re:Exhaust TOO LOUD
I had one of those dynomax "bullet" mufflers on my truck before going to the 5inch I have now. I cut the old muffler out and welded the dynomax in with a short piece of 3.5 inch pipe to make up the differnce. It was louder than stock, but not by much. I didn't notice much of a performance gain either. I just put a 5 inch on from city muffler, and it is much louder. There is also a noticable power increase too. That dynomax bullet in 3.5 inch was around $60.00 in summit or jegs, if I remember right.
