Exhaust

Hello
I'm running a 99 24 valve Cummings...
I want to open the air flow... I do not want to straight pipe the exhaust. Want an exhaust on it, but what would be the closest muffler to use for most air flow but good sound but not straight piped..

any ideas ??
thanks

Most of the good aftermarket exhaust makers offer a decent muffler...
My MBRP came with a straight thru one that drones a little at 70 and is a little louder than I really want/need..

Donaldson gets the nod around here often, but are spendy.

Welcome to the site!

you can go on youtube and type in 2nd gen Cummins exhaust. there will be a ton of videos of many types of exhaust. you can get a good idea of the sound.

Yes, us trying to tell you what he exhaust will sound like is a sure recipe for frustration.

I love my standard 4" MBRP, I don't detect any drone at all, but then I am an old fart and starting to be hard of hearing. I know this, she sounds darned good when you walk by the tailpipe, and I love spring when I can roll down the passenger window and listen to her.........

2x that. I lost alot of hearing in the Marines so my 5" no muffler sounds great and not bad to me.... My wife , kid, dog and neighborhood would differ. especially when it goes into high idle mode..
