Engine Speed Sensor

Hey all, I have been having some electrical problems for the past couple of days. I have searched and dug around on this site and in my Chrysler FSM and I have hit a dead end. I have even swapped out the computer with another truck and noting.

I went out to head out yesterday morning and when I turned the ignition on I noticed that the "Wait to Start" light did not come on. Then, I went to head out of the driveway I noticed that none of the dash guages were working and the transmission was in third gear. I can manually pull it into 2nd but it will not go into manual low and it will not go into overdrive. And, it the charging system is not working. My question is this: would the engine speed sensor cause all those symptoms? I know it can cause all the transmission stuff, the charging issue, guage problems, etc. But, will it cause the "Wait to Start" light not to come on?

Update

OK, I found the problem. It was the Crank sensor. Evidently, it had an internal short and was causing the PCM to go into protect mode. As a result, anything controlled by the computer was dead.
