Engine malfunction light

Engine malfunction light
The engine malfunction light stays on until I crank the engine. It seems to me that it used to stay on only as long as the other lights for lamp test when you turn the switch on. Some one tell if this is a problem or is this normal? <br><br>Thx from a newbie.<br>Keith Smith
