Engine dies

Help, Driving from oregon to oklahoma on vacation and the truck keeps conking out. Here are the details. 94 5spd 84k. The throttle linkage broke and I fixed it because it was already &quot;fixed by dealer&quot; the truck has been running fine. Fuel gauge in-op and I left it that way no problems. So we start on this vacation and after about 500 miles it quits running, missing running very rough stalls etc. I pull over wait a minute start it up and away we go. Changed ff after several stalls no help. Went to Cummins shop in wyoming and they replaced the sending unit in the fuel tank. MUCHO $$ . I made it 300mi<br>and it quits again. Fuel at about half a tank. I topped the tank off every 100 miles and have had no further problems. Any ideas would be appreciated Cummins said vac leak in sending unit. Thanks Ken

Re:Engine dies

if it runs fine when you top off tank then Cummins dealer is right. You are sucking air below that level of tank. Just keep doing that until you get home and can change out pickup assy in tank yourself.
