Drivers Side Door Lock

Drivers Side Door Lock
Hi everyone.
So yesterday I walk up to my 2001 2500 Quad cab and hit the clicker to unlock the doors. The lights come on and I can hear the doors unlock on the passenger side. The drivers side didn't unlock. So I walk around to the passanger side and hit the door unlock button...no go for the drivers side still. I reached across and unlocked it manually. When I got home I tested the clicker once again and still no unlock. Although after multiple lock commands with the clicker the drivers side door did lock once. I'm thinking there's just some type of motor or something that is going bad. Am I correct in that assumption? Any ideas on how difficult it is to replace? And the cost of the unit?
Little background: Front speakers are out - speaker guys say there's a short in one of the speakers and I need new ones. Also the drivers side rear door latch release quit working as the little metal clip just slips on the threaded shaft. I don't think either of these are related but figured I'd through it out there just in case.
Thanks Guys,
John

It's your door lock actuator. You can either swap the driver's side for the passenger's side to get you by, or you can replace with a new one. Not sure on the price, but I don't think they will break you. If I remember correctly, they are not too hard to get to after you get the door panel loose.

IIRC they were about 60 bucks for the door switch, which is what I think you need.
The upgraded ones are more water resistant than the originals. Its a dealer item, unfortunately.

You can compare your dealer price with this: http://www.dodge-auto-parts-dealer.com/parts.htm
