Door won't open!

My back passenger door won't open with either handle (Quad cab)...sounds as though the linkage inside the door isn't moving (could be wrong) anyway how to open the door to figure out the problem or fix it???

TIA
John

The cheezy adjuster allowed the rod to pop out, or the plastic retainer broke on the cable. Pull the door panel and you'll find your answer.

Thanks...hope the door panel will come off with the door closed...good to know it's a minor issue!

Yes you can get the inside pannel off with the door closed. Although you may not need to go that far. Remove the screws from the handle that you can see between the doors. Pull the handle out of the way (will not move very far but far enough.) Take a flash light, extendable magnet, and a pair of long needle nose pliars. If the latch on the bottom of the door is not full of rust you can open the door this way.
If not then you need to pull the door skin off from the inside. I did a post on this like 2 -3 months ago. Sorry I have no pics (do not have ability to do that yet) If you have to go through the pannel first you will need to bend a pretty stout rod so you can get under the lever on the inside of the door, and pull up pretty hard. It helps to have someone pulling on the handle to release top latch and the door from the outside. I hope I have helped in some way, and if I can help further pm me and I will do what I can. Tim
