do i have a charging problem ???
when i first start my truck ( doesnt seem to matter if cold or up to temp ) although the prob seems to last longer when cold... there is a draw on the engine ( kind of like the a/c kicking in, but it isnt ). the volts go down to to the mark on the left side ( about 11 or 12 volts i guess) for a few momments then goes back up to normal. it will cycle like this for a few minutes then eventually stops. the lights go dim and then come back to normal. you can actually hear the draw on the motor. and it also does this if it was plugged in or not, doesnt seem to matter. so tell me guys what is it ??? alternater going bad ???

You have nothing to worry about. The draw is nothing more than the grid heaters cycling. It is entirely normal.

Your grid heater has a thermistor (think temp sensor) in the intake manifold. It will cycle any time the intake temp is low enough- usually below 65 degrees. You might check your battery connections. Grid heater cycling is normal, but if your battery connections are foul, the voltage drop is greater, making the meter and light dimming more noticeable.

Cycling shuts down once your speed exceeds 15 mph, but will reset if the ignition is shut off and then restarted regardless of the engine or water temperature.
