Before you go get your new starter, take a minute and check the contacts as mentioned above. Big diff in buying an entire starter and just spending about 15.00 on new contacts. If you do not want to send for the HD kind, (highly recommend), you can get near OEM contacts for about 5 bucks including tax from the rebuilders in my area. Takes about 15 -20 minutes to drop the starter and install new contacts.

Edit: The 5 bucks does not include the new plunger.

Cut the insulation and inspect for corrosion in the cables,sometimes it will creep up inside the cable and be hidden. autozone should have an amp probe for checking starter motor amp draw. They do down here anyways.
