Dashboard replacement?
I just purchased this 95 and the dash is cracked bad...I ordered a cover from Coverlay but im thinking of canceling order in favor of OEM dash. Can someone tell me "how to" & how much of a headache it will be to replace this dashboard. And where is best place to buy OEM?
thanx in advance

Just a plain ole guy
Make asure you move the vin tag to the new dash. It's on the part thet comes out and is easily thrown away.
If there any chance you need a new windshield, you can actually take your bad one out and do this job in about 2 hours. The hardest part will come when dealing with the defroster vents. they screw to the bottom of the dash. i did mine with the help of someone holding amirror on the outside of the windshield. The reast was really easy. Search some of my posts. i beleive I told several people exactly how to do it. I did mine in less then 4 hours. Also remember to disconnet the little cable that indicates what gear your trans is in. It breaks easy if you forget it.
BTW. my replacement dash was about $169. if your bezel is fine, theres no need to replace it. it pulls off by hand. Just take your time removeing it and tapping it back.
Another tip. get some felt scraps and cut them into samll peices. Poke a hole in them and install them under the places where the screws go. It will prevent any after dash replacment squeaks.

I got my dash from wholesalemopar.com and it was $265 IIRC. There are some good write-ups about installation so do a search. It took me about 3-4 hrs and I've never done it before. Might as well replace the heater and evap core while you're in there just in case.

Thanx guys,,My research has been a nightmare, ive contacted 4 dealers all with different details, the latest, one local says i MAY have to have a support brace to install however, this brace is no longer avaialble, so he says he called chrysler eng and they told him i may could install it w/o brace. But for whatever reason once i order this dash there are no refunds or exchanges. One told me id have to buy a new bezel ($225) to install, one told me there have been 10 PN changes and hes not 100% sure which one to order of the 2 that are still listed. Guy in Fla told me to order pn 5EY72RC8 ($245) and of course i was told labor thur dealer is $800...my biggest fear of "dash cover" is the old dash cont to break & fall thur or squeak as mine lookas like a road map of cracks and the cover (1/16th thick) will conform to the holes or crack also. I really dont feel like i have adequate support esp when it comes to laying something on top of "cover" until adhesive dries. Does anyone have a different PN for 95 than for mentioned?

This is the answer from mopar.com: So now im even more confused
about what i should do..
Well, this one is a bit tricky, the upper panel is still avialable NOT PAINTED, chrysler no longer paints them, however it has been redesigned and it may not fit unless you replace the reinforcement that is currently not availabe and may not come available. the filler panels that should come with the panel no longer come with the panel, and they are not available with chrysler and longer either. so ordereing a panel might be risky, it may not fit, and you would have to paint it. not including the fact that shipping on this would cost you around 100.00 due to its size. The panel part number is 5EY72RC8 retail is 224.00 your cost is 162.00, however due to the issue with this item it would not be returnable or refundable at all....no exceptions..thank you for your inquiry
