Dashboard crack
I jump in the truck the other morning and for some reason, I guess the sun was hitting it just right, I notice that my dash has about a 10" crack in it. From the windshield almost all the way to the airbag cover. I cleaned it up last week so it happened since then. I keep Armor All on the interior religously, don't have fits and pound on it and don't really understand why that would happen. Maybe that Armor All just ain't tuff enough for this ole South Texas sun.
I guess it's just an ole farm truck now cuz I'll bet Mr. Mopar is plenty pround of a new dash down at the parts house. Looks like it might be a PITA to replace as well.
Anybody else ever heard of this problem???? or is this just one of them things never to be understood like NAFTA

From what I have seen the dash cracking is quite the popular item in trucks that live thier life in the southern portions of the US. You can always just throw a dash rug on there.
I never thought that I would like one but this truck came with a dash rug and surprising it looks good and I actually like it. Stuff stays put a lot better that for sure. Plus makes for cleaning a little easier (get the gray it hides dust )

I had a crack all the way from the glass down to the airbag too. I am in a semi-northern climate, not sure when or why mine started, but it didn't take long for it to get BAD looking. Luckily, I rear ended a guy a month back and uh, ...well...... that crack got fixed along with my bumper, valance and grill.
Only cost my insurance company $738.00, (over 2K total) I'm sure they'll recover that in the next two years of increased premiums. Took the guy at the body shop over 8 hours to get the dash in, nice job though, looks great.
I looked into dash covers, there are a few nice ones out there. The J.C whitney carpet dash with my initials sewn in was not an option, so I found some places that sell a complete plastic molded piece. Matter of fact, here it is:
