Unhappy Dash Cracked

My dash has a crack in it that runs all the way from the front windshield to the passenger side air bag. What can I do to fix this and what caused this to happen?

More than likely, there won't be a cheap and easy fix for it, atleast to make it look good anyway. Sun and heat do that to dashes. Some trucks that sit out in the sun all the time have it happen, and some don't. I know of a few buddys that it have also happened to, and they sit in the sun just as mcuh as mine does. I guess its one of those things.

Your best bet might be to call up a few junk yards in your area and get some prices. Dash pieces aren't hard to paint and make look good, it just takes some time and patience. Dash mats are another option. Good luck.

Mine has a crack that goes from the windshield all the way to the steering wheel.

I called the dealer and they want $325 for a replacement. Not too bad, but I can find a better way to spend the money.

i have seen some 98 to 02 that the dash has just been broke to pieces. but these were oilfield trucks that have been flogged up and down dirt roads.

My 94 got so bad that ALL the bolt points at the frnt of the dash broke out and I had 4 complete cracks from front to back. Truck only has 88,000 miles and has never been off road. I finally bought a new dash cover from Dodge for $135 and spent the better part of a day putting it in. Lots of work involved but not impossible. Def a 2 person job. Hardest thing is removing the heater cable. After that, just flip it over the wheel and onto the cab floor to take the dash cover off. I had my seats out which gave lots of room to work.

Now if I could just find that cab leak AND get Dodge to repaint my truck where it is peeling...
