I have a leak on my A/C evaporator cor. My dash has a couple hairline cracks on it and I am sure that it will fall apart when I remove it. So I was wondeing if you guys know of a place that sells a good replacement dash-board at a desent price.

Thanks for the link. I searched the site and only found a "dashboard cover". Did I posibly over-look the complete dash board?

What LMC sells is a cover. Several other places sell that cover as well. Geno's and JC Whitney are two that come to mind. The only place I know to get a replacement dash top is at a dealer. When I replaced the dash in my truck, I did a pretty exhaustive search. OEM can be expensive (depends on color) and was hard to get when I bought mine. You can search for online parts vendors and possibly save a little money over local dealer.

Give wholesalemopar.com a call. They are a dealer and I got mine for @ $250 and they also sold me the evap core and heater core for cheap too. I would strongly suggest getting new plastic clips (IIRC there's 5) that go into the firewall that the dash attaches to. I had to have mine ordered after I broke 2 and the truck was down for 3 additional days.

Don't waste your time with the dashboard hard cover. I did the Geno's and it didn't fit just right plus I was out that $150 when I just should have done it right the first time with a complete dash.

Another thought is a salvage yard. I've picked up two there one for a 95 and the other for my 01. Neither have cracked. The one for my 01 was $50 and I took it out.

What do you do about the VIN plate? I think it's riveted to the OEM dash.

I think it depends on the year model. Mine was on the firewall and the new dash went around it. I think on some you have to drill out he rivet and apply it to the new one.

Bought mine off of Ebay, full re-placement not a cover,,,,, It's guaranteed for life, so they say,,,,, I didn't want to hassle with another Dodge POS dash, that will crack again. Plus they want $408.00 for their junk, I paid $299.00 plus shipping for mine off Ebay.

Nice lady to deal with for sure, name was Sheryl,

"they want $408.00"

Call a different dealer. I replaced mine for about $160 from our local dealer. And the new one never cracked.

Yeah, it floored me to,,,, when I first priced them about two yrs. ago, my color, light gray, was $197.00 and the darker colored was over $400, don't ask me why the two colors were different, it's a Dodge is all I can say.

Put it off until about a month ago, since the top part above the speed-o-meter collapsed , called around all over Houston, they were all the same price,, $408.,,, I about crapped my drawers.

So like I said I decided to go with this off Ebay, haven't put it in yet, trying to get myself psyched up for the job.

On both models (95 & 01) the VIN plate is riveted to the dash cover. I'm pretty sure all 2nd Gens are riveted to the dash cover. Drill out the rivets and replace with new ones. Rivets are six or eight sided, aluminum rivets can be filed to look the same shape as the originals. Hit with a black magic marker and they look factory.

I did not drill out VIN plate rivets when I installed my new dash...just break the plastic away from the plate and leave the rivets on it---drill two holes in the new cover that the existing rivets will fit into and put a drop of glue in each hole---looks factory.
