Cruise Control on 2002 Dodge Ram CTD

Recently read a tread on installing cruise control on 2004 2500 Ram, 6 speed manual, CTD. The tread suggested that you only had to install the engagement switches on the steering wheel as the cruise control was electronically controlled. Can any one tell me if this is the case with the 2002 2500 Ram with 5 speed manual, CTD?

I guess it is the case. The following is out of my 02 service manual.

Diesel With Manual Trans.
The speed control system is fully electronically controlled
by the Engine Control Module (ECM). A
cable and a vacuum controlled servo are not
used if the vehicle is equipped with a manual
transmission and a diesel engine. This is a servo-
less system. The controls consist of two steering
wheel mounted switches. The switches are labeled:
ON/OFF, RES/ACCEL, SET, COAST, and CANCEL.
The system is designed to operate at speeds above
30 mph (50 km/h).
