Cost for a good paint job on a 98 2500?

That tremclad paint is cheap & labor intensive. If going to the trouble to make it look good, do the prep work & pay someone to spray it.

My brother just got his 94 single cab painted, it was about $1200. Didnt need too much body work, but it did have to be taken down to bare metal on account of the factory paint was peeling off. That was one of the cheapest prices he could find besides earl shieb. He stripped off all the badges and took down the interior himself to save on the price. This was in the North County San Diego area.

what kinda paint did he use? base/clear or acrylic enamel?

bad idea... changing colors.

don't unless you are prepared to do a proper job. all the little places that normally don't show because it's the same color, will now stick out like a sore thumb.

a proper job changing color translates into time... extra time that will cost extra to do right.

you'd be better off and $$ ahead finding a different CTD with color you like.
