CB Antenna installation questions
I just bought a pair of 4' Firesticks and two flat surface mounts. I'm going to bite the bullet and drill holes in the back of the cab for the mounts. The problem I have is how to get the coax out of the back of the cab. I also bought an 18' co-phasing harness with connectors installed. Needless to say, I'd like to keep the connectors installed. There is a gromet down near the bottom back side of the cab on both sides but I can't make out where is comes out inside the cab. It would be perfect because the connectors fit through the hole. Any suggestions?
I also got me a brand new Cobra 29 WX NW ST. I haven't even looked at where I gonna put that . Any more suggestions?

This is how my CB is mounted.

Rip Rook is now the source for the "Wunder Mount".
No holes to drill to mount the bracket.
Just loosen the screws that hold the center seat to the frame, slip in the bracket, and resecure the screws.

DC made some excellent provisions for installing radio gear in these trucks. Remove the plastic threshold plate at either door, and you will find a channel under it that will easily contain any reasonable cable bundle - find a location towards the rear of that channel, and drill a hole thru it big enough for your purpose, and run your antenna coax thru and out - once finished, silicon seal will re-seal the hole and provide a "bushing" for the cable. Route the coax underneath just inside the cab overhang, to one of the openings already at the front of the truck's bed on either side - cable ties work well to secure the cable, and on up into the bed area. If you use one of the common bed-stake mounts sold at places like Radio shack, they simply insert down into a stake pocket. tighten a bolt, and you're done, and have an antenna mount all ready to hook up to. Run the cables inside the cab back under the carpet near the area you plan to have the radio installed - assuming you will install it sloping at the front edge of the seat with the rear down closer to the floor - and simply make a slit back in the carpet under the seat somewher near where it will attach to the radio, and bring the leads out thru there. Power leads can be run along the same way, and depending on the console area in your particular truck, you might be able to simply tuck the power leads in under the lip at floor level to conceal them as I did with mine - check the top pointer in my sig below to get an idea of how my mobile setup is installed...
I'd post a picture of the install - but there's so little of the actual cabling showing, there's nothing to see! ;D ;D ;D

Re:CB Antenna installation questions
I sent Rip an e-mail last week 'cuz he still had no mention of the mount anywhere on his website. :
He said it's on his "To Do" list.
He said to have folks send him an e-mail if they had questions.

Re:CB Antenna installation questions
I also have the Michael Brolin CB mount, as shown in the above picture. It works great with my 6 speed and 4x4 Xfer shift levers.
I drilled a hole in the roof of my cab and mounted the antenna there, directly above the roof mounted cab light.

Re:CB Antenna installation questions
I'm gonna fab. up a metal plate and install my antennas on both mirrors, either 4' firestik or wilson. I'm also in the process of making a center console (remove cup holders and below) to hold my Magnum CB, scanner, guages and a set 0f 4 toggle switches. If I get going on this project I'll post pics. ;D

If you want to double up and make 2 of them consoles, I can round up a buyer for ya ;D
I just don't have the skills to attempt it, but need something to get the CB off the middle seat front.
And hold my future scanner.

As soon as I get something screwed together so it looks like something and not a pile of wood I'll post some pics. Should be in the next couple of weeks, its taking longer than expected fine details are a killer.

Re:CB Antenna installation questions
Put my antenna in the roof also, K40 1/4 turn disconect so I can get in the low places. I did have a pair of two foot wips I made mounts for that screwed in the top right side of the quad cab door. all you would see with the doors closed is a piece of metal and coax with the whip on top. Looked sharp but with the coax comming inside the door around the seal they would leak water in. So that is why I switched. My cb I put in the large cubby hole in the bottom of the dash, where the cup holders are for the autos. took the whole thing out and there is a metal bar in behind it that I mounted the cb tothen filled in the gap with the plastic that they use with aftermarket radios.

Dieseldude: Just out of curiosity, you said that you were going to fab brackets and attach them to your mirrors. Are these plastic mirrors? If so, what are you going to be using as a ground plane?
