Aren't there little threaded adjustment shafts on them? I think mine have a little white plastic **** for turning them up/down, left/right.

Yes you can adjust them
You adjust them via the torx screw on the mounting bracket turning the screw clockwise lowers the beam onto the road. You can also increase the out put of the light buy using a different bulb i did it in mine and get much better light i don't remember which bulb # it is right now but i think it is the 27.5 watt and the stockers were 20 watt you can't get too crazy or you will melt the plastic.

I don't know if the 27.5 watt bulb would be max or not you put in a larger one and let me know if yours melts I put the 27.5 in knowing it was a good step up from the oem and kept checking it the lens gets quite warm but not real bad -in the winter i would have no fear with something a little larger .
I did this upgrade a few years ago and after searching for the right style plug in and base that was what i came up with might be something better around now.

Adjustment screws are on the insides of the brackets facing in from each other. I would not recommend using hotter bulbs, as I had to replace my housings when one cracked from a set of "Super Brite" blue bulb EBay specials.
