Can I add the keyless remote control ?
Strangely my truck did not come with the keyless remote, it's a SLT with all the accessories but no remote.
I checked with dealer through VIN and they confirmed it.
Now, what does it take to add it ? I assume PCM is same, is there another unit to be added somewhere ?

I did a search and came up with this.
i just added keyless enrty to my truck. i bought it from chrysler so that it would just plug in. you can get it cheap of ebay but those kits mean alot of cutting wires. what i bought to do mine was a remote keyless entry module worth something like 270 canadian and the wiring harness worth about 70 dollars canadian. it was a fairly easy job it all just plugs in with the exception of bolting a ground wire to the body and splicing a wire to the dome light wire for illuminated entry. but when i was putting this in i found out you need to buy an additional package to make the park lights flash when you lock the doors. it seems like it would be handy becouse then you know it works as your walking away. but so when i went to get that part they said you cant get that part anymore.
so anyways for 300 dollars i have keyless entry and didnt have to cut any wires the only thing i dont like is the park lights dont flash . but it is fairly easy to do good luck.

I looked into getting a replacement remote since my truck came with it to begin with though I don't have the remotes. Nearly 100 dollars per remote to get them as they were 40-50 for remote and another 30-40 to program IIRC.

Yea, but then you're still looking at having them programmed. I held off on that because you can get a Viper keyless entry and remote start off fleabay for about 70 bucks. 160xv I think it's called?

Where is the receiver located? When I got my truck there were alot of things missing IMO. Just wondering if it had the option to begin with and they didn't give me the key fob. The dealers in my area are morons, every time I've been in they hammer me to trade my 12V in on a "better" truck and won't leave me alone so would rather not deal with them if I can look myself.

My truck had an aftermarket remote/alarm system in it because I guess the previous owner lost the key fob and didn't want to go to the dealer.
I went to the local dealer and purchased 2 key fobs and they programed them for like $85 total. You buy the key fobs somewhere else the dealer charges more to program, so it was cheaper/simpler to get everything from them.
If you do buy off the internet you need to check with the dealer and get the part #. You HAVE to have the correct key fob or it won't program to your truck. That's the long number printed in the plastic on the back and is so small you need a magnifying lens to read.
