A/C Malfunctioning ???

Yesterday I did an engine coolant change and replaced the old antifreeze with new. During the change I ran the engine a few times to flush out the old coolant with clean water. Whilst doing this I noticed that the A/C lines cold and consdensation dripping off and pooling on the ground under the passenger side of the truck. The heater was on full during this process, so the A/C should not have been working, right ?

Is this normal or is there a problem with the A/C - Heater control switch ? I am sure that someone ou there will have the right answer.

Thanks

Did you have the control turned to defrost? That will activate the compressor and it will cause condensate to accumulate.

I'm amazed at all the settings that make the AC clutch kick in the compressor. I think there is only one setting that does not kick in the compressor. I wish the truck had an AC button with a light like my 96 civic. I believe the only setting on my 99 RAM that DOES NOT turn on the AC is the one that blows on your chest. Its stupid but I think its to keep the system cycling so it lasts.
