a/c controls no worky
I went to turn the vent on but no air threw the registers. Fan is working ang air compressor comes on and will blow threw the defrost. I just cant get air to switch to any other outlets.
Haynes manual # 20404 only shows how to remove the control .
Any ideas?

I looked in the sorry haynes manual and it does'nt show a vac hose diagram for a diesel. This manual covers several different vehicles includeing the cummins.
It only shows vac diagrahm for gas rigs.

You have a vacuum line from the pump that plugs in near the center on the drivers side of the cowel. You have a vacuum line that comes from the cruise control that plugs in next to the pump line. You have one in the same area that goes to the 4wd controls. You have the heater system coming off the cowel line on the passenger side.
If you don't have a line disconnected, the likely culprets are the 4wd system, pull it and plug it to try for the leak, and the cruise control under the battery case. The elbow on the cruise control likes to eat away from battery acid.

I changed a lift pump recently and may of unplugged something then.

well could'nt wait so i went out with the ol flashlight. could not find any hoses unplugged.
tried to trace the 4x4 down but could'nt find it. traced one up from the front hub but it went to a electrical plug.
elbow for cruise looked good. these lines are impossible to get loose. was affraid i'd rip it apart if i kept trying.
