The part was ordered from TSB 14-04-98. &quot;<br><br>Seemed to take care of it, as explained in the TSB the cable for the speed contol is rerouted. Havent heard it anymore

 

I have a 1997 2500 and have the same buzzing. I have 205,000 miles on my truck.<br><br><br>maybe it is the fuel filter? Should I get it checked?<br><br>I have let it go for some time now and not had any problems. I only hear it when I am outside the truck and it gets louder as I get closer under the truck at engine. <br><br>But, it does not do it all the time ( I don't think)

 

5'' strait pipe drowns out most noises

 

Do you have tow mirrors? I have the tow mirrors and i had a buzzing/ whistling sound ( depending on your speed and not all the time) I could not figure it out for anything for the longest time. I finally had the window down and stuck my whole head out the window to see if i could hear it from outside and sure enough it was the mirror where the joint is.. This could be your problem also, Hopefully !!
Sounds pretty stupid i know, but, that's what it was..
