I recently replaced my shackles, couldn't find beefier looking ones anywhere. I'm just gonna coat them with Zero rust, then bedliner.

They usually break right around the top mounting holes;

New ones from Napa aren't bad either for the price of them;

The OEM bolts are a torx head bolt and luckily all of mine came out quite easily. They were a bit beat up though (pretty thin) so I replaced mine with regular bolts;

I had a first generation 3/4 ton whose shackle brackets rotted right out(the "J" shaped bracket rivetted to the frame). the dealer price was outrageous so I fabricated new ones from 1/4" plate and 3" channel

Hmmm, didn't notice this thread had a couple extra posts,lol. I checked a couple Catalogues I had but nothing was in there as far as suspension goes.

I'm assuming you fellas have 3" wide leafs and not 2.5'? I can give some people a call this weekend and find some part numbers for you guys hopefully. The only thing I see happening is I ordered my shackles through work (Traction/Truck Pro), with is a sister company to Napa but just heavy trucks, etc. Both are owned by UAP so the shackles should be available through Napa as well. Let me do some hunting around and I'll get back to ya.

Yep - mine broke as well. Both replaced at the dealer for less than $95. Need to get under there and see how they are doing. Wonder If I should have required the use of grade-8 hardware for the new ones...

Well I was really busy all Saturday, removing IP from the dually, removing IP from the 01, installing the IP off the dually onto the 01 and dropped the lock washer into the timing cover, so that was even more fun,LOL. Didn't have time to make some phone calls so I'll look into it tomorrow before work since I'm on afternoons.

Well it looks like you were right Diesel Dave. I went into my regular Napa and shackles didn't exist in their computer system. I guess since Traction is Heavy trucks, etc we carry stuff like that, where as Napa does not.

Hopefully there are other places other than the dealers, or maybe the dealers won't charge much for shackles. Good luck guys!
