Brake line replacement
Easiest way (read...quickest) to replace the long hard line (the one that runs behind the fuel tank)?
I bought a replacement from the dealer...not bad, less than $30.00.
Really don't want to drop the tank.

A piece of steel brake line long enough to replace section you want and 2 couplings with compression ends. Cut out old, slide in new, put on fittings and bleed brakes. Use tubing cutter on lines. Takes about 30 minutes.

Safety is my first concern, not to mention they are illegal on brake lines in most states.

EGR brakes make replacement brake lines for our trucks.
I got a set from them for the rear axle. Dealerships here in Canada wanted close to $1000 with tax for the two lines.
EGR's price with exhange and shipping under $350.
Excellent service.

The lines on the rear axle are expensive here too...would be close to $600.00 from the dealership.

I would personally straighten the back section enough to get it behind the tank, tape off the end so junk doesn't get in there, and shove it through. I have done 3 so far, not an issue with any.
