brake booster rod to master cylinder
My brake booster was leaking power steering fluid so I bought a rebuilt one. Took the old one off and discovered that the new one doesn't have the rod that goes to the master cylinder. The old booster has a guide at the opening that the rod goes through. How do I get that guide and rod out of the old one and into the rebuilt one? Thank for any help.

The rod wouldn't pull out. It had a yellow plastic washer stuck on the end of the rod. I took the old brake booster apart and the rod assembly, spring, metal spring retainer and plastic rod guide came out easy that way. Put the rod with the plastic washer on it into the new booster first. The washer end in first. Then the spring. Separated the metal spring retainer and plastic rod guide. Managed to tilt, wiggle and push the metal spring retainer into the new booster. Then slid the plastic rod guide over the rod and pushed it into the metal spring retainer. It looks like it is in there ok.
Now, how do I get the mounting bracket off the old booster ?
I removed the c-clip. But there is a large odd shaped nut holding the bracket on. There's not much room around it. Haven't been able to get channel lock pliers or any thing else on the nut to turn it. Anybody know what fits in there ?

Gave up on finding any kind of wrench to fit the bracket nut. Used WD-40, a hammer and a dull chisel. Once it broke loose I was able to turn it off with channel lock pliers. I should have just rebuilt my old brake booster instead of buying a rebuilt one.
