Brake and ABS lights are on!

We changed out front brakes, after that the Brake and ABS lights went on! and they wont go off anymore! Its on the 98 12valve

Scanner reads:

ECU ROM CHECKSUM ERROR 72

What might the problem be?

It really could be something very simple. On my last truck, '95 2500 CTD, the same sort of thing happened. The brake/ABS lights were never on. Then one day I disconnected the plug that goes to the master cylinder and both lights came on! Stayed like that for a week until I got around to finding a solution. But I had faith in my truck. I KNEW there couldn't be anything wrong. After all, the lights were off until I touched the wires. So I went under the hood, pulled the plug, cleaned it, and plugged it back in and moved it around a bit. The lights went off....

Moral of the story, maybe while you were changing your brakes, you hit the connectors down there. I'd take a look at them first. Make sure the terminals are clean and securely plugged in. Fiddle with it a little, don't just assume it's all good because it's plugged in. These things are finicky.
